I have always started my seeds right in the pot, this year for the heck of it and to let my "chillren" help..it i'm going to soak them in peroxide, do you let them stay in the soak til a root appears or just overnight? thanks!

Mr. cloud....be careful....10% of a 3% peroxide, mixed with water, for an hour, then plain water, for another few (4 or 5) hours, is what I am hearing lately. Too much time with too much peroxide, can cause some cot damage, or so I am hearing. I think the peroxide soak is just to kill off any possible fungus growth in the seed. The 4 to 12 hr soak in H20, is to help jump start the growth. Hope this helps...remember, lots of opinions out there. Peace, Wayne
PS....after soaking, into just barely damp paper towels, into a zip lock bag, and on top of a heat source, (not too hot) 85-90 degrees, seems to work well. Let the chillren, peak into the zip lock with you each day.

Hey blkcloud water (h20) has 1 hydrogen and 2 oxegen moleculs peroxide (o3h2) has 3oxegen and two hydrogen moleculs the reson for a peroxide soak is to increase the oxigen to the seed i use 1oz peroxide 1oz kelp to 4oz warm water i even use a air pump to bubble the water i file at night and soak till morning then put in moiste pots in heat chamber my seeds will be out of the soil in 24 to 48 hours

Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. (2 hydrogen and 2 oxygen atoms). Be careful- it is a very strong oxidizer and will destroy tissue at strong concentrations. At weak concentrations, it will naturally decompose into water and oxygen which helps root growth.
