Is anyone growing the 1273.5 this year? If so, how long before they germinate. I have 4 plants in peat pots. 3 of the 4 have shown signs of breaking the surface. The lone ranger is the 1273.5. Just wondering if others have had any problems getting it started.

Mark,
Next year i will be, thanks to Roger Howard, also i got a few more from there group. It's ok if you are careful to remove some of the potting mix to expose the seed, be real careful to just go down 3/4 of the way of the seeds, on the sides of the seeds, not the edges. Personaly i never bury a seed all the way i leave 1/4 of the top exposed, but i do have seran wrap on the top of my container, so it acts like a mini green house, and keeps the seed moist it drips back down, this way i can see at all times if germination has accured, i use bottom heat, you will be able to see the cots splitting the seed in half, i wait until the seed is 1 inc above the soil, then remove the seed coat, once again very careful if it seems stuck leave it on just a little longer then it will peel right off. For me it takes all the worrie out if a seed has geminated or not, even the 1016 witch is 7 years old only took 30 hrs that includes the 6 hrs i soaked, it will be in the patch in a couple of days, my 2 cent worth great luck, and best wishes grow'em big Roger R. by the way at over 40 seeds i'm still at 100% germination, i didnt learn this overnight, but i helped alot of growers get seeds going, and they too have now have great success, unless they planted a hollow seed. Good luck!

My 1273.5 had broken the surface by the time I got home yesterday. At 9:30pm last night I took the seed case off without any difficulty. I did not have to dig....I promise!
