Does anyone coat the seed with some type of fungicide at planting. All corn and soybean seed comes with seed treatment on it and I would like to do the same, but can't find the same type of products they use. a few that come to mind are Appron Maxx or Dynasty. any one know where to find similar products to protect our precious seeds and seedlings. ( some are systemic and work to protect the seedling against certain diseases)
thanks

This would be a good idea (apron or captan) if you were starting AG's directly in the soil such as in a farm setting. But since we start them in sterile seed starting media there isn't much need especially if you're adding mycorrhyza to the starter mix.

I have treated my pumpkin seeds with Gaucho XT for the last few years. This gives me a systemic insecticide on the seed along with a fungicide. A few years ago I gave a treated plant to a friend and when the cuke beetles attacked his patch they did not touch the treated plant. This formulation of imidacloprid will keep the insects away for 30+ days. The fungicide should also help the plant get off to a healthy start.

Sounds good where did you find the Gaucho XT? And can you get it in small quantities?
thanks

Ralph I've used captan on seeds at planting.

Ralph I sent you an email concerning the Gaucho. If you didn't get it let me know.
