So i have a bunch of pumpkins sprouted just opening up there cots and are beginning to push there first true leaf. I was wondering when most growers plant them out. Considering i have them in 4.5 inch pots there roots will hit the bottom of the pot pretty quick. I realize that we don't want them to get root bound. So i wonder if its best to get them in gallon pots first to let them grow out a little more? Or i can plant them right out with just there cots and a developing first true leaf and off coarse they will get some protection. Now the weather here is supposed to be rainy the next 5-6 days with temperatures averaging 70-75 night temps around 55 so i wonder if thats a good time to plant or not. Last year being my first year i let them get pretty pot bound and developed pretty big. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just my opinion , But i would put them in ground as soon as you are sure you can see the first true leaf (S) pointing direction' so you can point the plant in oppisite direction for vine to go ! the weather sounds good to go outside too !
