My first seedling just srouted today and I noticed tht it has a little bit of damage on the tip of one of its cotelydons. Will this negatively affect growth significantly?

probably not. I snapped one right off trying to remove a seed coat. 1248 Ford doing fine - one cot.

Sam,
You haven't SEEN cot damage yet. These plants, while fragile, are very resilient. As long as the growth point is not damaged, it will do fine.

the cots just supply enough energy to get the plant going. once the true leaves get big enough, those cots are gonna look a lot worse. i wouldn't be concerned.
