I usually start mine the beginning of April. Then plant them outside the middle of May.

hi paul, we start our tomato and pepper seeds about 8 weeks before the last spring frost (end of march ,1st of april) and hot pepper seeds can be fussy - they do like warm soil and we use a soil warming mat and some seeds can take a few weeks to germinate but we've had them germinate in 5 days too... so be patient and use more seeds than you need so that you're sure you get how many plants you want and thin them down to what you need - we always leave a few extra just in case and at worst case - you give a plant or 2 to a friend and if you've got more ?'s try pepperjoe.com as the name implies he knows peppers randy and deb
