I have always and have always heard to file your seeds then soak them. But on page 7 of DT2, Paps says to soak and then file, but I haven't heard of anyone soaking first. I would love some clarity to this, and the benefits of soaking first before filing and not the other way.

you file first... then soak.
Pap was just dyslexic that day.

duke file them dry. try to take 50-70% of the thickness of the shell and do it to the whole edge.It helps the seed soak up water better and shedding the seed shell goes much better.I like to use a little round metal file but anything with sandpaper will work
