Can anyone help me out with this one? What should I soak seeds in before planting? And how long do you usually soak for? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

I also file the edges lightly before putting them in water.

I just use plain water. I soak for 4 hours I put the bowl in my germ chamber while the seeds are soaking so the water stays warm.

I like to use a paper towel soaked in Essentials and seaweed.... squeeZe all the water out of it .... then place the seed in the towel and into a baggie... Stays there for 12 hours... then into my heated already soaked peat pot and into the germ chamber... My split 1985 germed in 2 days this way.... Good Luck...

I lightly file the edges.. mix a pintch of soluble. 0-0-50 with 1 drop of azoxystar fungicide. Wrap the seed in non bleached paper towel. And soak it in this solution(Luke warm) and set it next to the steam radiator for warmth. Usually 12-24 hour's dependant on seed casing thickness. I've had a tap root occasionally before putting them in starter mix. But generally sprout out of the soil in 2-4 days.
