With spring right around the corner and with people test starting seeds.. Don't forget. It's that time of year to change out light bulbs on the grow lights. I know I will need 16 new bulbs... Light output really goes down on my t5 vho bulbs after a year or so and I like strong healthy plants. Just fyi.

Lol guys... I am even adding a reflective heat barrier... Lol.... It reflects 97% light and insulates... Grow room / germination station. Same thing eh.. I suppose I'll have to post some pictures once I'm done. :)

so back to the question, I change bulbs every other year... I only use them for 60 to 90 days in spring.. Light output really goes down .. You can see the difference... And I'm all about maximum yield... Plus I sell off the seedlings to gardeners around my area.. Great way to bloat my kin fund.

Ben switch the bulbs around to the other side and see what happens it sounds like a bulb to me.
Gary, you are correct fluorescent lights do lose light output. However the new t5 should be better. Check into GE long lasting you can see the specs. You will drop 11 percent in 20,000 hours. http://www.gelighting.com/LightingWeb/emea/images/Linear_Flourescent_T5_LongLast_Lamps_Data_sheet_EN_tcm181-12831.pdf
