ok, guys. I did a little experiment on a ag seed. started it on March 10th and it took off strong in the patch. We had real good warm weather apx. 75-80 degrees during the day and down to 60 at night. Of course We now have a cold spell and its slowed down alott. Some powdery mildew wich I have now controlled. So, my question is do you think a major slowdown in growth will possibly stunt fruit size later.By the way I am a spoiled California grower. Its now in the 60s during the day and down to the 40s at night.

I don't think it will stunt the size later. I would keep the soil on the drier side until the temps warm up.

With a cold frame or hoophouse covering the plant 60 Hi and 40 degree low temps, should make for nice growing conditions in a properly vented hoophouse. As long as you have sun, which I am sure you do in CA. The plant will not be stunted at all.
