I started a couple of seeds for the virtual weigh-off and one of them had a radical emerge with about 12 tips pointed in every direction. I suspect this is a bad sign, but right now its the healthiest looking sprout I have. What happened to the seedling?

I would plant any "sport" regardless of strange behavior. That's how "super plants" are discovered.
That said, this one could also be more prone to all the worst traits exhibited by AG's like flat or ribboned vines & all sort of other atrocity.
There's only one way to find out.

I'm with Steve on this one. I could be a super plant, it could be a headache. Double plant the site, you have backup plants started right? Then cull it out if it has problems, or cull the other if it looks like a winner. You should know in the next month or so.

Sounds good. I have about 5 other seeds started, and about 5 more on deck. We'll see which ones strick out and which ones don't.
Thanks for the input. :-)
