Wife banned indoor germination. Saw styrofoam cooler w/ Christmas lights from a growers diary. Gonna try it outside. Any reasonable advice welcome.

Great idea already with low-wattage Christmas lights that could be spiraled and 'blobbed' right in with the SS mix as though soil heating cables. Dang! I was just thinking of almost this earlier today. 42F out in CNY. Anyway, that was it>>>SS Mix in a depression in the soil as deep as a pointed shovel's length (soup bowl-sized)...and an inserted digital thermometer. More to come, butt too tired presently.

California weather should be able to germinate stuff... isnt it in the 80's there yet? You mean at night it's too cold? Things are getting warm enough here to germinate stuff outdoors but yes you could cover things at night so that temps stay above 60.
