Back on to the pumpkin front, the PM has been delayed a lot more than last year. Whether that has anything to do with my precautions or not I don't know as It probably has more to do with the weather. The down side is I went on holiday for a week to come back to total spider mite infestation. I must not have noticed it before hand but within a week after the holiday it was severe. All the leaves outside are fine though.
As you can see in the photo the pumpkin decided it wanted to come back down to ground and the use of a half bag of compost really worked well. Managed to bring it down nice and slowly into position by taking out small amounts of compost every day. Luckily I put a big curve in the main vine as it is now on top of the pumpkin.
