I have fell behind on diary updates this year so here’s a look at what happened with my 1783 New a.k.a. the porch pumpkin

It ended up at 1305 pounds. It was pollinated by my 1109 which turned out fire red in color and 21% heavy to chart. I cut it in half to get a good look at the thickness of the pumpkin, then my daughters began to beg me to put it in the lake so they could float on it. I didn’t think it would float because it was cut in half, not hollowed out, but they were persistent and of course I gave in…. To my surprise, it actually floated and they paddled around the lake for hours till dark. It was one of the greatest days of my life to see their little smiles.
