Do you still practice no till... last year with the big pumpkin? If so, do you break the ground up at all or can you elaborate what you do to the soil? Thinking of a side project.

I am doing no till but some of the amendments I wanted them beneath the plants so I dug down 12" or so with a post hole digger so that I could toss in some phosphorus, etc. I dont have an exact recipe I follow I'm just trying to alleiviate some nutrient conflicts. I've had trouble in the past with the uptake of zinc, phosphorus, sulfer, and copper. So I'm trying to amend below the soil surface with some of those nutrients.

I have not been using heating cables for the tomatoes or pumpkins but... I'm open to the idea of trying tomatoes atop a heating cable. I think it might help.
Good luck with your project!
