On clear nights the dew point is the critical part.
I read yesterday on wiki that thatcher ants will eat plants occasionally. Today I observed this, a lot of chewing of young leaves, stems, flower buds. Before I would have attributed this damage to fungal blight or other insects but now I can see that its the ants being omnivorous.
Hopefully this is the last frosty night.
